Lost Identity: Empowering Pan African Women's Health Project

In the heart of our upcoming initiative, ``Lost Identity,`` we embark on a transformative journey to empower women across six secondary schools in Uganda. This comprehensive project intertwines health awareness, skill-building workshops, and cultural appreciation to nurture holistic well-being.

Objective

Lost Identity seeks to elevate women’s health awareness through a multi-faceted approach encompassing sensitization, reusable sanitary pad making workshops, mindfulness with yoga, and cultural enrichment through Afrocentric Theatrical Dance Productions and Beatboxing.

Components

Health Awareness Sensitization

  • Engage students in informative sessions addressing various aspects of women’s health.
  • Facilitate open discussions, dispelling myths and fostering a supportive community.

Reusable Sanitary Pad Workshops

  • Empower young women with practical skills to create reusable sanitary pads, promoting sustainability and accessibility.

Mindfulness Through Yoga

  • Introduce the practice of yoga to enhance physical and mental well-being.
  • Foster mindfulness and stress relief through tailored yoga sessions.

Afrocentric Theatrical Dance Productions

  • Embrace and celebrate Pan African culture through vibrant theatrical dance performances.
  • Empower participants to express their identity and heritage through creative movement.

Beatboxing Workshops

  • Integrate modern and traditional beats through beatboxing workshops.
  • Inspire self-expression and cultural pride through rhythmic ex

Culmination

The project will culminate in a grand Theatre Production at the Uganda National Cultural Center in Kampala. This spectacular event will showcase the collective efforts of the participating schools, weaving together the threads of health awareness, skill development, mindfulness, and cultural celebration.
